Our House System: Building Character, Community & Competition

At Sir Christopher Hatton Academy, our House System is a cornerstone of school life, fostering a strong sense of identity, teamwork, and ambition. Every student and staff member belongs to one of our four houses – Equinox, Luna, Titan, and Orion – each with its own values and traditions.

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to compete in a variety of exciting house events, earning points and contributing to their house’s success. Some of our key competitions and initiatives include:

Hatton’s Got Talent – Showcasing the incredible talents of our students in music, drama, dance, and more.
Big Fat Quiz of the Year – A battle of knowledge where houses compete in a test of wit and general knowledge.
Rowing Cup – A test of endurance, determination, and teamwork in our rowing challenge.
House Sports Day – A highlight of the year, where students compete in a range of sporting events to bring glory to their house.
Foodbank Collection – A community-driven initiative where houses work together to collect essential supplies for those in need.
Weekly House Sports – A regular opportunity for students to take part in competitive sports, build teamwork, and stay active.

Beyond competition, our House System is deeply rooted in character development. Through every challenge, event, and collaboration, students develop key virtues such as resilience, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility—preparing them not just for success in school, but for life beyond it.

Whether it’s performing on stage, leading a team to victory, supporting the local community, or engaging in weekly sports, every student plays a vital role in their house’s journey. With pride, passion, and perseverance, our House System unites us as a community and helps shape the leaders of tomorrow.
